How are ID documents affected when u have cosmetic surgery?
Just wondering what people who have had cosmetic surgery (eg. after an accident or just because they want to) do about their ID gear, eg. passport, driver’s license and so on.
If they look different from the photo how do they go about updating it?
My ever curious mind has been bugging me…
@Natalie
LOL agreed
So im getting the impression that you basically just have to re-apply for a passport and get another one just like anyone else would. Simple as that?
You don’t have to prove somehow that you’re the one in the old photo even if you walk out of surgery looking completely different. It just has to be verified by 1 or 2 other people on your passport documents when you apply. Is this right?
By law the picture on your ID should be a reasonably close match to how you actually look, so you’d have to get replacement documents made.
Same with small children who change rapidly, they may also need new travel documents more often than the time limit on them dictates.
The process to obtain them would be no different from that for anyone else.
