my mum had cosmetic surgery 20 yrs ago…..it was stomach stapling ,since the op?
she hasnt ever been able to eat solids and has pretty much lived on liquids ie build up and complan etc etc.during the op they damaged her spleen(sp) therefore had to remove it and she has been on penicillin ever since.well recently she has been picking up several viral infections which the doc said is due to no immune system.a few weeks ago she collapsed in the shower and had to be revived,this was due to pneumonia.the hospital wanted to investigate and they did….basically long story short all the staples have disappeared yet they should still be there in place and all the problems she is now having is due to the original op…can she take action against the hospital this far on ?i only ask as its recently that she has been made aware that her problems stem from that op.in the next few weeks shes having more surgery and this is to move her stomach up and kind of prop it on her liver(its not that straight forward )

You can sue anyone for anything, but being successful is a whole other story. You didn’t say what state this took place. Each state has their own laws, but I have never hear of one having a statute that long for an adult.
You also did not state what you believe the hospital did that was negligent. In fact, you didn’t mention anything about them at all. You should also know stomach stapling is not a cosmetic procedure it is a life saving measure with a lot of risks involved
You can look up the statue of limitations on line or call an attorney in the state it took place they will be able to tell you in the first 30 seconds.
